Two Day Sculpture Workshop Fri 14th & Sat 15th March

The two day sculpture workshop can be used to create larger sculptures such as Large Hares, Cats, Dogs, Giacometti inspired pieces, chosen from a 'Sculpture Menu' of tried and tested sculptures.  You do not need any knowledge of sculpting - Jo will have planned your project and will guide you through each step.

Although no previous experience is needed, we will be using most of the techniques used in the one day Hare Sculpture Workshop, so if you have attended one of those you will be in the best position to make the most of the two day workshop.

The workshop price includes the equivalent armature and materials costs of a large sitting hare (eg moongazing), finished in bronze Powertex paint. All other sculptures will incur an additional cost relating to complexity and material costs. This is normally £95, with a couple of exceptions which are detailed on the 'Sculpture Menu'. An example is a large leaping hare (1.2 mtrs long, weighing approx. 13 kilos), finished in bronze Powertex paint would be £95.

Please ensure your sculpture idea can fit into your vehicle!

You will start with a steel stand and build up the sculpture with wire armatures, foil, Mod Roc and plaster.  The size of the steel stand can be adapted to your ideas as these become the strength and 'backbone' of the piece. We make contact several weeks before your workshop to ask what you wish to make. This gives us time to design the project, weld armatures and ensure materials are available.

Your sculpture will be weather resistant so can live on your patio or in your garden.

There is plenty of tea, coffee, water and chocolate available throughout the day.  Please bring your own packed lunch (microwave, oven, toaster, crockery & cutlery available).

Our workshops are friendly, fun and relaxing and suitable for all abilities and age groups over 14 (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).   The studio is spacious and bright, set in beautiful quiet countryside just outside the village of Hepworth on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.  It's within easy reach of Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge for those of you having a holiday break.  Parking is on-site.

Two day workshop numbers are limited to a maximum of 4 to allow space for larger projects and plenty of time with Jo.  Please note that cancellation/postponement notice is a minimum of 8 weeks.
